After 3 weeks in Balboa, there seems to be a split occuring within the divisions and it may be a trend that continues - at least in Division 1 - unless there are some upsets this week. It's not too late, but those teams in the bottom half of their respective divisions need to start picking up some wins if they want to make the playoffs and qualify for the County Championships.

Division 1
The defending champion Stingrays have looked tough as expected. After welcoming the Swamp Donkeys to D1 with a convincing 42-18 win, they downed the White Russians 48-14 to keep their record perfect at 3-0. The division's other undefeated D1 team, the Renegades, have survived injury thus far and will have to keep it together to make their run to a title. While their offense sputtered against a stout Code Blue defense in week 3, they had just enough to get the job done, and held on for a 16-14 victory that kept them tied for first place. The loss put Code Blue in an 0-3 hole and leaves them needing to resuscitate their season if they want a shot at the playoffs. Look for them to make some noise as their starting quarterback will be returning from a two-week absence this Sunday. After the first two weeks, the SD Hurricanes were brewing up quite a storm, but they were jumped late by the Convicted Felons 33-26. Both teams find themselves at 2-1 and in good shape heading into this weekend's games. Rampart, White Russians and Swamp Donkeys are all looking at improving on their 1-2 start. It won't be easy to move up this week as the top 4 teams will be playing against the bottom 4. Who has the best chance at an upset?

Division 2
Division 2 is shaping up in a similar fashion, with Wingmen at the top of the pack with a last play victory over Those Guys on Sunday. Wingmen captain Chris Stubbs is guiding his team towards a D2 title, but Powerhouse, Golden Showers and Los Rayos are in hot pursuit. Los Rayos stumbled through a humbling 33-0 defeat at the hands of Powerhouse last weekend and the Golden Showers lost their All-Star receiver to relocation for the remainder of the season. Might the likes of Black Tide, the Regulators or Those Guys be ready to take their place should they falter? The playoff seedings might be determined by the D1/D2 inter-division matchups in week 6. Who will do the best against the top teams in Balboa? Can any of them win?

Division 3
The class of D3 is clearly HomeGrown. Bright eyed and bushy tailed, these ballers are ready for some competitio and Superbad might just be ready to give it to them. Both teams are coming off of big time blowouts against the bottom of the division and the winner will be in first place in D3. Justice League and Happy Hour look to be on the next level, but Dirty Dozen can prove they deserve some consideration if they can upend Justice League this weekend.
