8 weeks into the season, the playoff situation is looking a bit clearer with several teams clinching a spot in the Ship. There are still some positions available and a few teams have their work cut out for them if they want to make it into the dance.

Division 1
The defending champion Stingrays are riding high in first place following their big game win over the Renegades. Both teams have already clinched a top-3 spot in the playoffs, but the Convicted Felons are hot on their heels at 6-2. The Felons toppled the Stingrays in double overtime in week 5, while the Renegades' only loss was to a spirited Swamp Donkeys squad in week 4. If the Stingrays win out, they're the #1 seed, but both the Renegades and Felons can get to the top spot if the 'Rays falter down the stretch. The big game looks to be the end of season rematch between the Renegades and Convicted Felons. It might just be a preview of the #2 vs. #3 semifinal. The Felons are in an interesting position in that they could finish in first place with a pair of wins and a Stingrays loss, but they could fall out of the playoffs with losses to White Russians and the Renegades. One win and they're in.

Assuming the Felons are in, the battle for the last spot is between Code Blue, SD Hurricanes and the Russians. All three teams are at 4-4 heading into big games this weekend. Code Blue bounced back nicely from an 0-3 start, rattling off 4 straight wins, before falling to last-place Rampart by one point on Sunday. The Hurricanes have lost two in a row, but have the most favorable remaining schedule with games against the bottom two teams in the division. White Russians have to go through Convicted Felons and Code Blue, while Code Blue has a rematch against the Stingrays. A three-way tie would be decided by point differential and Code Blue has a healthy lead for now.

There are some big games coming up with White Russians / Convicted Felons, Stingrays / Code Blue, Code Blue vs. White Russians and Convicted Felons / Renegades.

Division 2
The playoff spots in D2 are all but decided. Only the top 3 have clinched, but Golden Showers' magic number is 1 - and they may not even need that. They would have to lose both of their remaining games and Black Tide would need to win both of theirs (and make up the 32 point differential) in order to drop out of the top 4. The front running Wingmen can clinch the top spot this weekend, but will be without their starting quarterback the rest of the way as he is being deployed to Hawaii. Big games this week between Those Guys and Black Tide as well as Powerhouse vs. Golden Showers will probably decide the playoff seedings for D2.

Division 3
D3 is a bit cloudier, although HomeGrown and Superbad are in. The #1 seed will most likely be decided by this weekend's rematch between the two Division 3 powerhouses. Happy Hour is clinging to the 3-seed for now, but both Justice League and Dirty Dozen will have a say in who will make the D3 playoffs. Remember, the winner of the Division 3 'Ship will represent Balboa against Mt. Carmel's D3 Champion at County. Go get 'em guys!
