SD Stingrays Shut Out Pride 36-0, Show No Mercy to Mercenaries 62-18
The Stingrays continue their parade towards an undefeated season, picking up two more wins en route to a 6-0 start to the fall season. The Rays shut out Pride in the opener behind QB Mike Stange's 17 of 24 passing for 280 yards and 5 touchdowns. Stange's weapon of choice for this game was wideout Deymon "D.O." Owens. Owens caught 5 passes for 89 yards and 2 TDs while the Stingrays' big man, LaVon "Mista" Lynch hauled in 4 catches for 83 yards and a score. Lynch also picked off a Pride pass. As expected, it was all Stingrays in the matchup against Mercenaries. Leading 38-0 at the half, the Rays took their foot off the throttle and cruised to a 62-18 victory. Stange completed 19 of 27 passes for 338 yards and 7 touchdowns against the short-handed free agent squad. Owens continued his assault on the league receiving title with another 6 catches for 125 yards, one score and 3 two-point conversions. Mike Harvey scored an eye-popping 5 touchdowns on his 8 receptions for 109 yards. Harvey also added a defensive score when he returned a late interception for a TD. While the Mercenaries struggled against the league's top team, their future looks bright with the addition of new free agent John Pistone. Pistone guided the Mercs to 3 second half scores and showed the grit and determination needed to compete in this game. Along with the emergence of wideouts Levi Gordi, Tino Dominguez and Sherman Wooden, the Mercenaries may have the pieces in place to turn the corner and make some noise in the D2 playoffs.

Rampart Rampages Past Code Blue 43-22
Rampart flat lined Code Blue on offense and defense. Rampart QB Sheldon King was 16 of 26 for 191 yards and five touchdown passes. King's primary receiver was his center, Ryan Montalvan, who hauled in 8 receptions for 77 yards and 3 TDs. King's nephew, Chris Jasper, scored on both of his two receptions for a total of 68 yards. On defense, it was all Rampart again, capitalizing on three interceptions - one each from James Watts, Marlon Dorn, and Sheldon King. King ran his INT back for a late TD to ice the game. Code Blue's Casey Furtado did find one of the "soup" brothers, Phill Souvanaphong, for a pair of TDs and some impressive yardage (124).

Black Tide Edges Crusaders 28-27
This was a nail-biter down to the last second. Both teams were hungry for the "W" and it showed. Black Tide QB Huy "Wee" Nguyen was 18 of 30 passing for 206 yards and 4 touchdowns, 2 of which to one of his favorite receivers, Robert Tran. Tran pulled in 4 catches for 46 yards and the two TDs. Tran and Charles Valerio each came up big on defensive with crucial interceptions. Crusaders QB Neill Little was 12 of 19 for 239 yards and 4 touchdowns, two to ex-USC linebacker, Christian Prosser. Prosser had 3 receptions for 52 yards and Dave Purpura had another solid performance with 5 catches for 112 yards and one TD.

Crusaders Advance Past Royal High 30-26
It was another close encounter for the Crusaders but this time they were able to declare victory. Neill Little was 13 of 24 passing for 162 yards and 4 touchdowns, connecting with his primary weapon, Johnny "Shaka Laka" Saraka, who totaled five receptions for 67 yards and 2 TDs. WR Christian "USC got beat by Stanford" Prosser took it out on Royal High with five receptions for 63 yards and 2 touchdowns. Royal High hung tight throughout with a solid performance by QB Mark Littrel, who was 11 of 20 for 190 yards and 4 touchdowns on the night, two of which to his WR front man, Fabian Sunly, who totaled 3 receptions for 75 yards and 2 TDs. Royal High's WR Marvin Ramirez was also solid with 3 catches for 60 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Rampart Destroys Mercenaries 50-0
Not a game you want to write home to mom about, but the four-player free agent squad did what they could against a storming Rampart. Unable to make it past midfield as a result of a dominating double-, and sometimes triple- rush, the Mercenaries QB, who shall remain nameless, played like a monkey trying to hump a football, completed only four passes for 47 yards and threw three interceptions, one each to Chris Jasper, Marlon Dorn, and Ryan Montalvan. Rampart QB, Sheldon King was en fuego, throwing 11 of 17 completions for 203 yards, five TDs. King's main target was WR James Watts, who had four receptions for 98 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Code Blue Flatlines SD Hurricanes 37-26
Code Blue earned a doubleheader split by knocking off the up and coming SD Hurricanes 37-26. QB Casey Furtado was 15 of 28 passing for 259 yards and 6 touchdowns. Phill Souvanaphong, Code Blue's leading receiver, hauled in 6 passes for 90 yards, 3 TDs and recorded one defensive interception. The Hurricanes' QB Albert Bersley was solid in the air connecting on 14 of 23 passes for 249 yards and four touchdowns, two of which were connected to Hurricane's big man, Steven Lopez along with his four receptions for 84 yards.

SD Hurricanes Blow Away Black Tide 32-18
The Hurricanes were not going to go down winless on the night and fought to contain the Black Tide in a tough matchup. SD Hurricanes QB Albert Bersley was 20 of 37 passing for 239 yards and 5 touchdowns. Bersley's main target was WR Freddy Arcaina, who had 4 receptions for 59 yards and 2 Bersley TDs. Hurricanes' Brian Cruz also scored a touchdown and picked off a Black Tide pass. The Tide's Huy Nguyen was 12 of 20 passing for 184 yards and 3 touchdowns, all to his favorite receiver, Bruce Vu.
