SD Stingrays Pull the Plug on Code Blue 30-12, Win Division 1 Title The San Diego Stingrays had some unfinished business to attend to after losing their bid for an undefeated season last weekend. One week after Code Blue shocked the Stingrays 25-12, the Rays got solid QB play and their opportunistic defense set the tone as they cruised to the first D1 League Championship in XFF history. Stingrays QB Mike Stange rebounded from a sub-par performance in the previous meeting to hit on 17 of 27 passes for 259 yards and 4 touchdowns. Mike Harvey led the Stingrays receiving attack with 5 catches for 92 yards and a TD and center Jason Stratton had a remarkable final, hauling in 6 passes for 73 yards and 2 touchdowns. Code Blue quarterback Casey Furtado found Phill Souvanaphong 10 times for 111 yards and hit Tony Souvanaphong twice for scores, but the hounding Stingrays defense, led by pass rusher Brian Nero, proved too tough and the Stingrays intercepted 4 Code Blue passes to seal the win. The Stingrays locked up an automatic berth in the County Championships with the win, while Code Blue should receive an at large spot with their finals appearance and earlier season win over the Rays. Crusaders Smoke Black Tide 38-6, Crowned Div. 2 Champs! The Crusaders were determined to make their mark as the inaugural XFF Div. 2 champions and did so without much of a threat from their Black Tide opponents. QBs Neill Little and Joey Willis both shared the Crusader snaps for a combined 18 of 26 passing for 210 yards and five TDs. Willis threw 4 touchdown passes, while Little added the fifth. WR Mike Cacho was the leading scorer for the Crusaders with 19 points on 7 receptions for 35 yards and 3 TDs while Johnny Saraka lead the way in receiving yards on seven receptions for 133 yards and a touchdown. On defense Saraka and Daniel Holbert also had one pick each with Holbert running one back for a touchdown. SD Stingrays Crush Rampart 48-6, Advance to D1 Championship Game The Stingrays returned the favor on what Rampart did to the Hurricanes, beating them on both sides of the ball and sealing the deal for a shot at the D1 title. Stingrays QB Mike Stange was 18 of 26 passing for 265 yards and spread his 5 touchdown passes around to 5 different receivers. On defense, LaVon Lynch, Mike Harvey and Kevin "Kmart" Martin all had a Rampart INT with Kmart's being returned for touchdown. Who said there was no return policy at Kmart? Code Blue Parades Past Pride 31-20, Advance to D1 Championship Game Code Blue came up big in a rematch against a Pride team that took them down in the last week of the regular season. Rampart's QB Sheldon King was 15 of 20 passing for 214 yards and five touchdowns. WR Marlon Dorn took in three of those TDs on four receptions for 59 yards and an interception on defense. WR Richard Allison added another two TDs on four reception for 43 yards. Without Arcaina in the Canes' lineup on the afternoon, QB Albert Bersley's main weapon was Brian Cruz with seven receptions for 97 yards while WT Ikaika Dolfo scored the only Hurricane touchdown on two receptions for 15 yards. Crusaders Take Down Royal High 40-6, Advance to D2 Championship The Crusaders were on a quest for a championship appearance and remained on top of their game during both halves of football. With the return of Joey Willis coming of an injury which sidelined him during most of the regular season, the Crusaders were able to free up Neil Little from the quarterback spot to a receiver in order to cause some Royal High damage in the air. Of the five TD passes Willis had thrown in the game, Little took in three of them with his 6 receptions for 104 yards. The Crusader's other weapon, Johnny "Shaka-Laka" Saraka, was the team's leading point maker, tallying 20 points on 4 catches for 36 yards. Saraka also lead his team on defense with
